Delancey, founder of Chopper Customs, got interested Harleys at a young
age, his first basket sportster was given to him frozen to the ground by
his uncle. Committed to getting it up and running, Tim learned all
about his 1959 sportster.
From
there, Tim chose to join the team at Carl's Speed Shop in Santa Fe Springs,
CA -- there he built drag bikes and traveled with the drag circuit.
After
three years with Carl's Speed Shop Delancey moved on to open up Drag Central
in Long Beach, California. He gained a great reputation and lots
of respect as a talented bike builder and mechanic.
In
1996, Tim Delancey chose to move to Oregon and raise a family, where he
opened up Chopper Customs as you see today. Along with the move,
many customers stayed with Chopper Customs, and Delancey continues to build
custom cycles for people in the Southern California area, even though the
market there is over saturated with new flashy shops. This proves
Tim to be an excellent bike builder in his own right.
Even
though now in Eastern Oregon, Chopper Customs will deliver any bike they
build. Being away from the quick pace of the large city, Chopper
Customs has more time to give personal expert attention to each bike they
build. No assembly lines here, everything is built just for you.

After high school Tim attended the
Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and graduated a
certified Harley Technician.
